MUJI reduced homebrand cola in price

Topics! Jun.9,1999

MUJI cut the price of it's homebrand canned beverages including "Mujirusi cola" last May. Due to this reduction, 354ml cola is now available for 50 yen (It was 58 yen before).

According to MUJI's homepage, this price-cut is the result of using a simple design and consistent packaging materials, and successful rationalization during can manufacturing processes. The price, 50 yen, is quite reasonable, considering most of imported cola are sold around 55-60 yen. (Coke is 120yen, so does Pepsi).

MUJI cola is known for Caffeine-Free, which is quite rare in Japan. We expect that this rare and unique cola spicy become more popular with MUJI's drastic measure.
