PEPSI started "HAPPY PEPSI CAN" campaign

Topics! Jun.3,2000

PEPSI HAPPY CAN

Correspond to new bottle cap giveaway campaign, PEPSI started another PEPSI-MAN related campaign aimed only at vending machines customers.

In this campaign Pepsi employed so called "lucky can" method, in which the prizes are set in certain probability among cans in vending machines. So those who buy PEPSI at the automat may get well-chilled prize instead of ice-cold PEPSI. This system goes with money-back so that the winner can buy what he originally wanted to buy.

The prize "HAPPY PEPSI CAN" contains knockdown style PEPSI-MAN figure which can be used as can-topper accessory for 350ml can (Photo above). The figure is made of PVC and quite well molded to the detail. The presentation can is designed to be identical to 350ml in order to be used in vending machines. 3 coins (100 yen coin and two 10 yen coins) are set on the lid as a cash-back [Picture] .

Japan is known for having the largest number of vending machines per person in the world. PEPSI's this vender-limited strategy will turn out to be a favor of them.
