Coke Issued Millennium Christmas Can in Japan

Topics! December 7, 2000

Santa arrived a month before Christmas, as usual. Coca-Cola placed millennium Christmas can on market from the end of November in Japan.

For X'mas cans Coke often revive their old ad paintings by Haddon H. Sundblom, who is famous for Santa & Coke arts. The Santa on this edition is basically the copy from Subdblom's work in 1963 [PHOTO].

But careful observer may notice that there's a slight difference between them. In original Santa have a book in his hand instead of Coke bottle. And the boy located under the logo is from Subdblom's another work, which appeared in magazine in Dec. 1959. Coke has employed this "combination" design since last year in Japan.

Usually can of this kind is available only for a month and few could survive after the New Year's Day.
