PEPSI's "PEANUTS" campaign

PEPSI Japan is now in then new campaign with "PEANUTS", the famous American cartoon. The prize? Of cause, "PEANUTS Bottle Cap" giveaways.

Though not may people in Japan know the original cartoon, "SNOOPY" has been very popular for all ages. It is so popular that Universal Studio Japan has the attraction named "SNOOPY Play land", though PEANUT has little to do with Hollywood.

The system of this campaign is almost the same as their previous ones. One PEANUT bottle cap comes with every purchase of 500ml PET bottle. Bottle caps are in plaque plastic bag, so you can't find out until open it (but you can guess by touching it).

The novel point is that the set of caps from PEPSI and those from Diet PEPSI are different [photo1]. Each set is consists of 15 different kind of caps of SNOOPY and his companies.  And 5 out of 30 caps are PEPSI's "original" version. (as seen in photo)

In Japan Diet PEPSI is now the only diet cola with "Acesulfame K", the new artificial sweetener available since last year. PEPSI is pushing Diet PEPSI in Japanese beverage market, and the sweet beagle will strongly promote the sales of their low-calorie cola.
